says my discouraged friend. A and I were venting about how it would be wonderful to just pick up and leave our jobs and our current stressful/lame/boring lives. How about going to this serene B&B in New Zealand and working in the garden or kitchen? In exchange you get to live there for free. Or how about a bonsai tree farm in Maui, or a horse ranch in Denmark?! Honestly, I think that sounds fantastic. Being able to be in a completely new place, where no one knows you and do a little work and then have the rest of the time to explore, THAT sounds next to wonderful. I would have a purpose but also not have the dreaded feeling of "going to work". I know there are a ton of organizations that set-up and promote this type of life-style. Not only does it promote cultural awareness but it is rather economical. I even read about a horse farm in Denmark, I would even do that and I don't even LIKE horses.
